Happy Dada day

The weekend was kicked off with a fun kite flying event that Syona's MyDr
eamAcademy hosted for the fathers. Shilpa helped get a Dora kite for her and I was a bit apprehensive on flying it as I don't quite remember flying a kite. That said, the new kite technology was pretty cool (no weird stick inside and the kite was so light that it was easy to catch in the wind). After getting over the snafu of the kite stuck on the roof and needing to climb onto a roof to untangle it, Syona and I were able to get Dora to fly in the sky. Like everything else, Syona kept insisting that "Syona do it" and after getting the kite in the sky, Syona was able to maneuver the kite for a while on her own. Kyran on the other hand was just kicking it in his stroller with muma, Ms. Kim, Ms Anna and the rest of the MyDream teachers. It was so much fun, that Syona just wanted to keep staying at school on the Friday afternoon- even though it was Syona, Muma, Dada, and baby Kyran days. That night, I stayed up kinda late on carving out a wood stamp with Kyran's chinese name - Kai Chen.
As a result, Saturday was a jumble where Shilpa and I alternated on taking care of Syona and Kyran as we were each fighting to catch up on sleep on our own time. It was kinda funny as we took turns taking Syona out to the parks as we each took naps. Don't remember Syona really napping, but through it all, we really wore her out that night.
The next day, I received a nice card that Syona drew on for Dada day. Afterwards, we took the family and met up with Nai Nai, Gou Gou, Uncle Roi and Kevin to see my dad's memorial. Weather was really good up in San Mateo and we went to our Little Shanghai restaurant, which has become the tradition when we meet up there. On the way back, we met up to see Dadu and the rest of the Badani clan- Faiba/Fua, Bhabhi/Bajis, and Bhabhus. It is starting to feel like wedding times as the extended family has started trickling in and everyone is almost always hanging out somewhere together.
